We Have the Talent and Resources to begin addressing the Black Community's Deficiencies.

Community Introduction & The Problem: A Harmful Illusion The narrative ideology that the Black community lacks resources for its own progress is a harmful illusion and must be challenged! Within the Black community lies a wealth of talent and expertise across all spectrums, often unrecognized and untapped. This blog serves as a clarion call to Black intellectuals, educators, business, and community leaders: it's time to reclaim our power and actively contribute to the solutions our communities need. For purposes of this blog—The Black Community and the recognized geographic area is anywhere you live.

The Solution:

A Collective Effort We are a diverse community spread all over the metropolitan area, both highly educated yet facing systemic undereducation. However, the knowledge and skills within the educated and experienced segment haven't been fully utilized to address our challenges, let alone combined with those street soldiers who have been actively engaged in change. Some of you have been corporate CEOs and “C” Suite executives, while others have been marching and using other advocacy methods. Imagine a collective effort in which academics, researchers, and practitioners tackle issues like educational disparities, economic inequities, and healthcare access while developing new ways to address the Black/White wealth gap or the middle-income versus lower-income wealth gap. Everyone’s unique perspective and experience hold immense value in this collaborative process. The historical focus on navigating "White America" may have unintentionally narrowed our vision. It's time to shift our gaze inward, recognizing the opportunities for problem-solving within our community's very fabric. We can leverage our knowledge to address our specific needs, not just those defined by external forces. This is not about blaming the White community. They have built their own system for problem recognition and solving based on their experiences. The responsibility lies with us, the Black intelligentsia, to step up and lead the way. We must actively find solutions, collaborate with community members, and empower each other to build a brighter future.

Calling for a Mindset Change! This call to action is for more than just established professionals. We need the average experienced citizen, the small business owners, the corporate executives, and educated professionals regardless of occupation: every voice, every skill set, and every lived experience matters. Whether you're a student, a young professional, or a seasoned community leader, you have something to contribute. I know you have thought about what can be improved or created to address some of the issues within your personal experience, let alone the community. Let's join hands, share our knowledge, and build a future where the Black community thrives not just despite but because of our collective brilliance.

The Platform:

BlacIntellec Because it has been said that the Black community doesn’t have an active voice that stays on the case and truly represents them, BlacIntellec, the Atlanta Black Think tank and Authentic Voice of the Black community, accepts accountability for establishing an essential infrastructure to support Black intellectuals and leaders and bringing that voice alive. This platform offers an authoritative voice in economic, political, and social discussions, influencing the future of Atlanta's urban areas. With this acceptance, BlacIntellec is recruiting and assembling persons from across all spectrums of the Black community to form a tool capable of providing the Black point of view to address community problems and to offer solutions for opportunities presented within problem-solving. In its quest, BlacIntellec will bring these voices together to engage in various initiatives, including focus groups, research, panels, conferences, workshops, publishing insightful papers, and more. These efforts aim to elevate and project the powerful voices of the Black community, shaping opinions and altering future scenarios before they become entrenched in the system. BlacIntellec will be more than just a knowledge repository; it is a dynamic hub of Atlanta's most brilliant Black minds. We utilize our collective wisdom, experiences, and abilities to advocate for the Black community, confronting vital issues directly. BlacIntellec will use modern technology and other innovative resources to gather these varied opinions when needed. So, we need all our voices to speak up! We need the daycare owner, barber, athlete, hospital worker, college dean, people who live in the suburbs, or people who live in the inner city; we need the views of people experiencing homelessness and all other types of representatives from our entire ecosystem. Can you imagine the depth of a collaborative solution offered if we utilize the problem-solving contributions of an accurate cross-section of our Black community versus the opinion of just one so-called expert? The BlacIntellec objective transcends mere influence; we strive to be agents of meaningful change, elevating voices and championing a fairer and more equitable future. For example, we might need to authenticate the community’s view on some development project, challenge our absence of important deserts in healthcare or youth services, and even challenge the question of whether our Black society is getting its fair share of a return on its tax dollars.
